DIFFICIL-S® has been independently tested by NHS laboratories at a dilution rate of 1:400 to give at least a 5 log reduction of 99.999% in Clostridium difficile (including spores), MRSA, Listeria, E.coli, Salmonella, Pseudomonas, Mycobacteria (tubercle bacilli), Norovirus and other pathogens.

A new concept can now be used to eradicate the spores of Clostridium difficile

A new concept can now be used to eradicate the spores of Clostridium difficile (C-DIFF). This approach will enable hospitals and care homes to substantially kill off all known SUPERBUGS.

For many years various types of disinfectants have been tried to combat the ever growing C-DIFF problem, which causes suffering to tens of thousands of patients. Many thousands, particularly the elderly die from these airborne bacteria. Scientist and biochemist in Bury St Edmunds have been working hard to develop a new chemical breakthrough. The outcome is a new product DIFFICIL-S®, which has recently been awarded a high accreditation by the Department of Health and is now being fast tracked for use in clinical trials throughout the country.

Clostridium difficile infections are encouraged primarily by imbalance within the natural flora within our own bodies. The spread of Clostridium difficile throughout healthcare environments is mainly due to its airborne bacterial spores. They are found within human faeces and, on drying, the spores become airborne. These spores can live for many months and can readily infect other patients. It has a protective shell formed by a tough mesh which protects it from most disinfectants.

How does the new product work? The liquid solution is applied to all work surfaces, furniture, floor coverings, instruments and equipment, is immediately active. Within minutes the area will be left clinically clean. The product is simple to use and with low costs. Unlike some other cleaning agents, it can be safely used in most working environments without having to vacate the room. Cleaning staff will be able to use this as a daily dual purpose cleaner and disinfectant, with the minimum of personal protective equipment. The active chemical component of DIFFICIL-S® is chlorine dioxide, present in the prepared solution as a dissolved gas, in a liquid with outstanding wetting properties. Spore penetration is readily achieved, and the organism is swiftly killed by the potent destructive action of chlorine dioxide, destroying the organism's internal chemical structure. Worldwide interest for this unique product is growing daily, not only for hospital use, but for use in all places where infections are present; prisons, cruise ships, food preparation areas, schools and care homes. There are many other applications in public transport, military, shops, offices the list is endless.

DIFFICIL-S® is highly effective, easy to use and low cost but most important it will save lives while it saves millions in preventing the spread of pathogens. DIFFICIL-S® is an effective answer to Clostridium difficile, MRSA, E.coli, Salmonella, Noro virus (winter sickness and vomiting) T.B., Hepatitis, HIV and many other types of organisms. This new approach, which can benefit people throughout the world, has been developed and manufactured in England,
