ABOUT DIFFICIL-S®
DIFFICIL-S® is one of the most powerful and revolutionary broad spectrum disinfectants ever developed and is both safe and simple to use.
DIFFICIL-S® is non-chlorine based. It's main component is chlorine dioxide which has many advantages over chlorine when used as a disinfectant (see below).
DIFFICIL-S® has been independently tested by NHS laboratories at a dilution rate of 1:400 to give at least a 5-log reduction (99.999%) against Clostridium difficile (inc spores), MRSA, Norovirus, Mycobacteria, Pseudomonas, E.coli, Listeria and all known pathogens.
DIFFICIL-S® can safely be used on all hard surfaces, mattresses, floors (inc. most carpets), walls, equipment, utensils and soft furnishings without staff, patients or residents having to vacate the area.
DIFFICIL-S® is extremely simple to use. Just add sachets A & B to 10 litres of cold water added to the supplied mixing vessel and stir for 30 seconds. The prepared solution can then be decanted into the provided 500ml trigger jet or variable angle capped dispensers for ease of use.
DIFFICIL-S® retains its efficacy for 14 days.
ADVANTAGES OF DIFFICIL-S®
Compared to chlorine-based products which are commonly used for disinfection, DIFFICIL-S® has many advantages:-
- 5-LOG REDUCTION (99.999%) - Achieved in a low dilution rate.
- ONE PRODUCT DOES ALL - Solution can be used everywhere, whatever the challenge.
- SAFE TO USE - Produces no harmful or unpleasant gas release and can be used with the minimum of protection.
- LOW COST - The solution can be kept in the provided airtight containers for 14 days with no loss of efficacy (chlorine solutions must typically be used within hours).
- NON-CORROSIVE - Near neutral ph making it safe to use on all metal equipment and utensils with no 'pitting'.
- NON-CARCINOGENIC - No cancer causing compounds produced by combination with organic waste.
- STABLE - The sachets can be stored stably for 30 months.
- LOW-BULK - Dilutes at 1:400. Two 12.5g sachets gives 10 litres of ready to use disinfectant.
